1       Introduction 

Flight Details 

In this topic, you learn how to update the flight information that displays on the Flight Details pane to help you in monitoring flights.

2       Detailed Explanation 

Flight Details

Use the Flight Details pane to configure the information that displays for flights.

Your options include:

 

        Flight number

        Cost index
(currently not available as GW and Take Off Weight come from the flight plan)

        Position Source

        GW

        Take Off Weight

        Track

        Ground Speed

        Vertical Speed

        Altitude

        Flown distance (in km or nm)

        Updated

        Remaining distance (in km or nm)

 
Displayed Graph tabs provide graphical representations of your flight.

Tabs include:

        Altitude

        ETA

        Notes (text only)
 

As you learned in the User Interface Orientation topic, the data that displays in the Flight List is configured by your N-Tracking Administrator.

You can add and remove data fields from the Flight Details pane independently -- to hone in on your information requirements.

Interaction 1 Click the user name (Trainer_PF) dropdown button.

Interaction 2 Click the User Settings menu item.

Interaction 1 Click the Flight details menu item.

The fields that display in the Visible list are those that show in the Flight Details pane.

If you are setting flight detail display for the first time, the Visible table is empty. 

In that case, drag your first field choice on to the
first cell of the Visible table.

Interaction 1 Click the Position Source object and drag it right, onto the Remaining distance table row.

As indicated on-screen, you can position any given data element in the Visible table while you drag it or by placing all the data elements and then dragging to re-position them.

Interaction 1 Click the Take Off Weight table row and drag it between Remaining distance and Position Source.

Interaction 1 Click the Save button.

Interaction 1 In the Flight List, click SCX8200.

The data elements you chose display on the Flight Details pane.

Close the pane by clicking anywhere on the map.

Interaction 1 Click anywhere on the map.

The Flight Details pane closes and you're ready to move on to your next task or for more practice with these settings.

Let's change the graphs that display at the bottom of the Flight Details pane. In this scenario, you're logged in as an Administrator.

Do you remember the menu item to access when you want to update the Flight Details pane?

Use the User Settings menu item to access Flight details to update your display.

Interaction 1 Scroll to the bottom of the Flight details settings screen, using the vertical scrollbar on the right.

Interaction 1 Click and drag the ETA table cell onto the empty cell in the Available table.

Interaction 2 Click the Save button.

Let's see how that change affects how the Flight Details pane displays on the map...

You can also display the Flight Details  pane by clicking on an aircraft icon on the map. 

For this example, click the plane icon representing flight SCX 341.

All the selected data elements display in the Flight Details pane.

In this case, the information source did not transmit a takeoff weight (TOW) to
N-Tracking.
